We collectively agreed to name our association “Victoria’s Sentinels” because we aim to provide, guide, and protect those who are currently struggling with suicidal thoughts. We are regular students who want to share awareness about this sensitive topic, it is a reoccurring issue that some people still face today. The more people who know about this topic, more people will be more sensitive and aware about this concerning occurrence. We hope they would be able to learn more about it and they can sympathize and empathize with those who are in dire need of help. We hope that they can build strong relationships that might be one of the positive impacts on the victims’ lives. We strive to let you, the viewers know that you are loved. We hope that this website that we created soothes and provides comfort to those in desperate need of help. We want to show you that you can still find the joys in life, something to be happy about, there is still hope.
Victoria, it comes from the word victory, meaning winning over one’s thoughts and will to self-harm and especially, taking their own life. Sentinels, we want to be the guards who watch over and provide safety and comfort for the people, protecting them from their inner thoughts. We want to have a positive impact to you, our viewer, know that dying is not the only way to escape it, persevere.
